Three webcomics I have really enjoyed.
dream*scar (by Heather Meade)
“Set in a post-modern alternate reality, dream*scar shows a world where Unhumans, the creatures of myth and lore, live openly amongst humans. The Reveal only happened some 20 years ago, and so times are still relatively chaotic for everyone involved [racism especially rampant]. Amidst all this is a girl named Vix. She knows she is an unhuman, and she knows how they are treated, but she is lucky — she’s an empath, and her powers easily hidden. But when something goes wrong, and people end up dead, she begins to realize that there’s more to her abilities than she can even comprehend…”
Panthera (by D. Z. McRoy, Jeffrey Kan and Jon Bennett)
Four teenagers are granted elemental powers as well as the ability to turn into huge felines in order to fight the past sins of their recruiter, Richard Reynder, an eccentric yet brilliant teacher at Bridgedale High School. However, as they start to understand the nature of their abilities, a terrible truth starts to arise. An exciting story full of action, humor and drama.
Sidekicks (by Iron Shin)
Sidekicks (사이드킥, Saideukig) is a Korean action Webtoon series that has been published weekly on NAVER since 2014.It follows the story of the sidekick Dream Girl on her journey to becoming a true hero, under the tutelage of the famous hero Darkslug, a powerful yet lazy superhero who usually makes her sidekick do all the dirty job while he gets all the credit of her deeds – yet he has some good reasons for doing that.
